Common questions

How does a morning work?

The apps you picked, and only those, lock at your lock time (4:00 AM unless you changed it; you can set each weekday on its own). They open at your unlock time, 11:00 AM unless you changed it. While they are locked you can check in: your mood, your energy and as many activities as you would rather do than scroll, plus an optional plan or journal note. Checking in does not unlock anything, and you can edit your check-in until the unlock time. At the unlock time your apps open, the morning counts and your streak goes up by one.

I didn't check in. When do my apps open?

At your unlock time, 11:00 AM unless you changed it in Settings, the same as when you check in. A morning with no check-in still counts.

I need my apps right now

Tap Emergency unlock on the Home screen, answer the short survey and confirm. Your apps open right away. Your streak goes back to 0; your lifetime total of mornings stays. On the survey you can choose to have your apps lock again later in the morning, until your unlock time.

My apps are not locking

Real Morning needs Screen Time access. Check iOS Settings, then Screen Time, and make sure Real Morning is allowed. Then open Real Morning, go to Settings and confirm your apps and lock times are set. A night with no lock time has no morning.

Can I lock at a different time on weekends?

Yes. In Settings, Lock times, turn off "Same every night" and set each night on its own, or leave a night without a lock. A night with no lock neither adds to nor breaks your streak.

The widget shows the wrong number

Open Real Morning once; the widget refreshes from the app. It shows the activities and note from your latest check-in, your streak and your lifetime mornings. To add it, touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and pick Real Morning.

How do I turn Real Morning off?

Withdraw Screen Time access in iOS Settings, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes all its locks.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Real Morning. To avoid being charged after the free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles App Store refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I got a new phone. Where is my history?

Real Morning keeps everything on your iPhone and has no account or cloud sync, so your history moves only with a full device backup and restore. Your subscription carries over: in Real Morning, open Settings, then Subscription, and tap Restore purchases.
